Here’s the salumi and cheese you can and can’t eat.
We at Salumeria are conscious about what pregnant ladies are and are not able to consume.
Hard cheeses such as Grana are the safest posing minimal issues. So are other medium soft cheeses such as Cheddar. What is important with the softer cheeses is to ensure that they have been made with pasturised milk and have been handled with the correct temperatures. When in doubt, simply don’t consume.
With regards to salamis. The story is not as simple. Basically there are two factors that need to be considered. Botulism & Toxoplasmosis. These although low in chance may be present in Salamis & poorly cooked meat.
